House Bill 1729 keeps the timeline for computing the prevailing wage and incorporates this timeline into the calculation of the newly created PWCMW. The PWCMW is 120% of the average hourly wage in a county where fewer than 1,000 hours are reported in a particular occupational title.
As in years past, in making the annual wage determination, DOLIR will continue to accept reports of hours worked and other wage data from the previous calendar year (2018 in this case) as long as this information is submitted to the department by January 31, 2019. The initial wage determination will then be calculated by DOLIR no later than March 10th, with a final determination released no later than July 1, 2019.
The same timetable will be followed for the release of the PWCMW. Both the PWCMW and the prevailing wage in each county will be released together in the Annual Wage Order.
